FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office feels more prepared following a donation from a local businessman.

Sheriff Mike Fridley announced Friday that Ben Morgan of Fayetteville gave the department tactical tourniquets for every deputy. All deputies will attend a training course in the near future on how to properly use the devices to stop bleeding from serious traumatic wounds.

Following the training, the device will be carried on every deputy at all times. Sheriff Fridley said he is thankful for the surprise donation.

“The proper use and deployment of tourniquets have saved countless lives over the years. Mr. Morgan’s generous donation will undoubtedly save more.”

Sheriff Fridley reminds the public they can always contribute life-saving information to his department. You can contact their office at 304-574-2590 or through their Facebook page.
