BECKLEY — Screening mammograms remain one of the most effective tools for the early detection of breast cancer, and Vandalia Health’s Charleston Area Medical Center is working to make those screenings more accessible.
CAMC’s mobile mammography unit will be parked at the CAMC Cancer Center in Beckley, located at 275 Dry Hill Road, on Wednesdays beginning January 14, and continuing on January 21 and January 28. Screenings will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
The mobile unit provides fast, confidential screenings using the same advanced digital imaging technology found at CAMC imaging facilities.
The event is open to the public with a physician referral. Patients are asked to bring their insurance information, as pre-registration may be required by insurance providers.
Women age 40 and older who have not had a mammogram in the past year—and who are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or experiencing breast-related issues—are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for early detection.
To schedule a mammogram, call 304-388-0015.
