A Princeton woman is facing multiple charges following a reported robbery and altercation at a Mercer County residence.
According to court documents, Thirty-five-year-old April Piersall was arrested December 27 after police were called to a home on Brown Street just after 1 p.m. for a reported robbery in progress.
Authorities say an unknown woman was outside the residence demanding keys to a vehicle parked on the property, claiming it belonged to her. Investigators allege Piersall gained access to the vehicle, took a purse, and became involved in a physical altercation with the elderly homeowner.
Officers arriving on scene found the victim bleeding from the arm. Police noted the victim had difficulty controlling the bleeding due to medication.
Police say Piersall appeared impaired and resisted officers during the arrest. A search allegedly revealed a rolled marijuana joint in her pocket. Officers also report she initially gave a false name before fingerprint identification confirmed her identity.
Investigators say Piersall also unlawfully entered an outbuilding on the property and opened mail belonging to the resident.
Piersall is charged with robbery or attempted robbery, obstructing an officer, unlawful entry, destruction of property, and simple possession of a controlled substance. She is being held at Southern Regional Jail on a 30-thousand-dollar cash-only bond.
