Two assaulted during Stanaford home invasion

STANAFORD, W.Va. — Two suspects are still on the loose following a Thursday evening armed robbery.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, three black males entered a Hoist Road residence in the area of Stanaford at around 7:30 Thursday evening. They reportedly demanded money and drugs from the homeowners before striking two of them, including a juvenile, with a weapon in the head.

A female resident was able to escape to a neighbor’s house to call for help. The suspects allegedly stole a PlayStation game system before fleeing. One left on foot and the others are believed to have fled in a getaway vehicle.

The suspect who fled on foot was apprehended by deputies after a brief foot pursuit. That suspect was identified as Vernon Robinson. He is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.

Robinson faces charges of Burglary, Conspiracy and Fleeing on Foot from Law Enforcement.
