Mount Hope man arrested for Sunday burglary

MOUNT HOPE, W.Va. — A Fayette County man faces several felony charges after a search warrant was executed at his residence Tuesday.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department received information that Jonathan Adkins, 34 of Mount Hope was responsible for a Pack’s Branch Road burglary on Sunday. The home’s residents returned from vacation to find about 30 firearms, $8,000 cash, jewelry and a television had been stolen.

During the search of Adkins’ residence, deputies found 20 of the 30 firearms, the television, some of the jewelry and a portion of the money. He was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction.

Adkins faces 20 felony counts of a Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearms, Burglary and Grand Larceny. He was transported Tuesday to Southern Regional Jail.
