OAK HILL, W.Va. — A Fayette County man is facing multiple charges after police say he stabbed his brother and threatened his mother.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to a 911 call of a medical emergency at a residence along Greentown Road outside of Oak Hill. The dispatcher could hear an altercation through the phone.

Upon arrival, deputies found Jesse Nelson, 22, “acting belligerent” and had blood on his forehead. He told deputies he did not remember anything that happened except he smoked marijuana.

An investigation has revealed Nelson entered his brother’s room and fell to the floor in an apparent seizure. An altercation with his brother started when Nelson allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the arm. He also threatened his mother.

While deputies were searching for Nelson’s medical ID, deputies located a bowl with marijuana, unmarked pill bottles and a scale in his room. He was taken into police custody without incident.

Nelson faces charges of Malicious Wounding, Domestic Battery, Domestic Assault and Simple Possession. He is being held at the Southern Regional Jail on $15,000 bond.
